5 Multiplayer Games I Want to Play in 2025

5 Multiplayer Games I Want to Play in 2025

Now these games aren’t necessarily “cozy”, but the act of playing them are cozy to me. Especially when you’re playing with your besties and loved ones. Everyone needs a good laugh every now and then. It helps cure the soul in my opinion.

Or if you and your buddy are in need of an escape without having to go outside into the real world, journey into various fantasy worlds and live through the eyes of your character.

These 5 games I’m about to go over aren’t in any particular order, I want to play them all equally, for similar and different reasons.

5. Mario Party Jamboree

I have to admit that I don’t have any negative memories ever while playing the Mario Party series (except you know, when your star gets stolen). I remember countless times of laughing until my stomach cramped, tears streamed down my face, and ending the day with a sore throat from yelling so much (all from fun and happy frustration).

There’s never a dull moment during a game of Mario Party and with all the new boards and minigames in the latest installment, Mario Party Jamboree, I’m sure you won’t experience a dull moment any time soon.

Available on the Switch.

4. R.E.P.O.

Game Description: “An online co-op horror game with up to 6 players. Locate valuable, fully physics-based objects and handle them with care as you retrieve and extract to satisfy your creator’s desires.”

There hasn’t been a day where I haven’t seen hilarious clips of this game on social media. You play as a derpy looking robot as you locate valuable hidden treasures as well as hiding from any danger that may come your way. Now when it comes to hiding, not only do you have to take cover but Shhh! They can hear you through your microphone!

Find it now on Steam.

3. Path of Exile 2

Game Description: “Path of Exile 2 is a next generation Action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, featuring co-op for up to six players. Set years after the original Path of Exile, you will return to the dark world of Wraeclast and seek to end the corruption that is spreading.”

I must disclose, I’ve been playing this game throughout 2024 and I still want more of this game.

If you’re a fan of the Diablo games then you’ll love this one. Now I haven’t played the first Path of Exile game and it’s not required to be able to enjoy this one. You and your friends will encounter tricky monsters/bosses, build up your characters to destroy everything in your path and support each other, oh and the best part in my opinion, finding good loot.

Available on PS5, Xbox, and Steam.

2. Sea of Stars

Game Description: “Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG inspired by the classics. It tells the story of two Children of the Solstice who will combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer.”

I’ve had my eye on this game for a couple years now and I want to finally experience this adventure with a friend and/or loved one. Growing up in the 90’s, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger were two of my favorite games for the Super Nintendo. And seeing this game makes me feel so nostalgic while bringing some new modern-day elements to give it a refreshing feel.

Available on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox, and Steam.

  1. Split Fiction
Okay, a little backstory. My bestie and I have been dreaming of being successful authors one day (we’ll get there eventually!). So the first time I saw the preview for Split Fiction, it was like this game was made for us. Two authors going through various trials and tribulations to make it out together. I feel like this game will have aspects of different styled games all in one.
Available on PS5, Xbox, and Steam.

If you're playing any of these, please share your thoughts in the comments down below or tell me what your favorite multiplayer games are and what are your most anticipated releases!
